A Man You Would Write About

Image
All of Scripture is ultimately about one person - Christ Jesus. The Old Testament not only alludes to Him and His first visit, but prophesied His arrival as well. The first part of the New Testament documents the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, The Messiah. While the later half of the New Testament deals with the creation of the church, the sustaining of the church and the return of Christ for His church. In this book of instruction that Christians call The Bible, Christ Jesus is viewed as the ultimate example or standard in all things. There is a retired Christian band named  4Him  that performed a song entitled "A Man You Would Write About". This song spoke about the desire and pursuit of being the type of Christ follower that people would write about favorably during and many years after the life of that person. While Christ is the believer's forever model to follow, before Christ's arrival and after His ascension to God The Father - there were certain quality p...

A Life Of Convincing, A Convincing Life

Image
I want to be persuasive in my witness for the Lord. As I actively speak, sing, write and teach about Christ Jesus my Savior and the Christian lifestyle, my prayer is that I am convincing. I hope and pray that my words, actions and lifestyle would be such a convincing influence that others would change or consider changing to the ways of Christ Jesus. Paul is a wonderful example of the process of considering this lifestyle and where does the believer begin? With these words Paul communicates to himself and his audience through his senses, intellilect and emotion that all the proofs of Jesus as The Messiah are true. This truth being revealed to Paul drastically in His initial encounter with The Lord and then throughout his service unto the Lord - Paul made it his mission to not only have A Life Of Convincing, but A Convincing Life. If the Christian is truely to live A Life of Conv...

The Rewards of a Pure Life

I have always believed in integrity. I have certainly not been the best example of it at different points in my life, but only One has lived the perfect life - Christ Jesus. However, this does not mean I do not keep integrity as an integral part of my life - on the contrary, integrity or being "pure of heart" as Scripture refers to it is a major daily goal of mine that I pray is shown. One of the definitions of integrity is soundness, like the soundness of an object or dependability of a person. This aspect of integrity is a result of an excellent foundation - Jesus Christ. The Lord's life was and is the perfect example of integrity-living. When using myself or anybody else as a foundation or measure for integrity, my purity of heart and benefits thereof will not be there. There are rewards or major benefits for seeking the pure lifestyle. Matthew speaks about being able to see God as a reward for having a pure heart (Matt. 5:8) . David says the right to ascend the mount...
