"Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' " - John 14:6
When Jesus called Himself "the way", the original word that John documents Him using is Hodos (hod-os). This word means road or by implication a progress, route; figuratively a mode or means, like a journey or highway. When I asked the Holy Spirit to supplement this Title, He immediately dropped Matthew 7:13-14 into my mind and spirit.
- “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
- "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." - 1 John 1:5
- "Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." - James 1:17
- "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together."
