THRONES

It is a matter of perspective.  The Christian on his/her knees in physically surrendered attitude and prayer is the right perspective.  The throne of your mind needs to be relinquished to God.  The throne of your heart needs to be relinquished to God.  The throne of your soul (who you are) needs to be relinquished to God - for His control.

Why relinquish control?  Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up (James 4:10). Currently, I am watching a t.v. series called "The White Queen".  It is about the rise of Queen Elizabeth in England.  The more I watch this program, the more I realize we all are hungry for our own Thrones.  Ah yes! The allure of The Throne of England in "The White Queen" and I'm sure in reality was power, control, wealth, and prestige.  Sounds like the Throne of My Life and maybe the lives of many other Christians.

I have seen many who wanted a Savior/Hero to come save their souls from an eternity of torment and separation from God and He did that.  However, after they accepted what Jesus did on the cross for them they kept on living their lives the way they wanted to live them.  Christ may be their Savior from the eternal wrath to come but He is not their Lord or Master of their lives.

My life is so much better when I am off the Throne of My Life, when I am humble before the Lord, and the Holy Spirit is in control.  It is a message I have to hear and a lesson I have to learn over and over again to get it through my thick skull - unfortunately.  This enthroning God in my life means I consult my King in every thought.  This means I consult my King in every action.  This means I consult my King in every word.  This means I consult my King in everything.  If I do this, He promises "He will lift me up"!

Prayer:
Dear Lord,
I thank you and praise you that you desire not only to save me but help me live my life to the fullest, Godly potential!  I want to help you help me Lord, so I pray I am out of the way or getting out of the way right now.  I surrender the Throne of My Mind, the Throne of My Heart, and the Throne of My Soul to you King Jesus.  The Throne of My Life is yours and it is so much better in your hands anyway.  Please forgive me for the times I pridefully retake these Thrones.  Please prompt me the next time I am even leaning toward sitting back on my throne or Thrones.  In your name, Jesus, I pray, Amen.
